SIMSIMIYYA
SIMSIMIYYA (arab. سمسمية) is type of a lyre popular in Egypt, Yemen and Jordan (it looks a bit like a kissar). We can hear this instrument in a traditional Bedouin music as well as in the urban folklore – from the Egyptian cities of Port Said and Ismailiyya. Simsimiyya is also one of the instruments which accompany to dance called bambutiyya.
